I just got back from the Pikes Peak Writers Conference 2017, and had a great time. I learned a lot about the publishing industry. I had some of my book and my book’s query critiqued, and both were positively received. I even got a referral! Hopefully everything goes splendidly. I met Michael R Underwood, host of the Speculate! podcast that I listen to, Kevin Hearne, author of the Oberon books (aka the Iron Druid Chronicles), and Josh of Joshsworstnightmare.com, along with a whole host of different people.
My book haul from the Conference includes Genrenauts, The Rowan, Into the Fire, and The Case of the Deadly Butter Chicken.
Last week I stopped by the library, and my book haul included World War One: A Short History, The Little Book of Common Sense Investing, World War I: the Essential Reference Guide, Solstice Wood, 1913: the Year before the Storm, The First World War: A very short introduction, Almanac of World War I, The Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Sourcebook, The War and the Future, and From the Boer War to the Cold War. Hopefully I finish most of them before I have to return them.
I am presently reading The Eye of the World, Almanac of World War I and Genrenauts. Have you read anyof these before? What are you reading?
Writing and Editing: I got basically none done this week.
Glad that you had such a positive experience at the Conference! Sounds like it was fun. You’re reading list is very diverse – which is great!

Was great meeting you John. Let me know if you come across any good horror fiction while climbing Mount Readmore!
