In this season our heroes must find the Boy, stop an Unstoppable Wizard and his Apprentice, solve two fifty year old murders, defeat the One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Eater, Evade the Pscyho Government Agents out to kill them, and take a short vacation in fantasyland.
Spoiler-tastic Review
I loved this season. Quite honestly it’s humor reminds me of my own stories… Except it’s even more insane than my own. We begin the season with Dirk Gently imprisoned by incompetent government officials known as Blackwing. Dirk must escape imprisonment before he can successfully reunite with his friends Todd and Farah, who are currently on the run from the law. Thanks to the Deus Ex Machina nexus which is this series, he escapes via unexplained teleportation and shape shifting lady.
Thus begins this story in earnest. It involves our heroes coming to the bottom of a 50-year-old mystery from the early days of Blackwing. It also involves a rogue wizard from a child’s fairytale coming to earth in order to find his apprentice, a soccer mom/book club aficionado who has a major chip on her shoulder. Linking the two mysteries is ‘The Boy.’
