Books and Fitness: First week of September

Analysis at bottom

Here’s the stats for this week.

Monday

  • Didn’t go to gym. Got busy making dinner. My bad.

Tuesday

  • Bench Day
    • New max 225lbs
  • Rode bike
  • Started reading ‘The Great Transformation’ by Karen Armstrong
    • Reread.
    • It’s a decent nonfiction-ish book about the origins of earth’s religions
    • It’s best described as edu-tainment. It’s not a hard nonfiction book which a person can use as a resource to write a journal article, but for a member of the public who wants to know more about religion it’s a fun read.

Wednesday

  • New schedule has me not exercising on Wednesdays. Was nice taking a day off.

Thursday

Friday

  • Deadlift day
    • New Max of 290lbs

Saturday

  • New scheule has me not exercising on Saturday. Was nice taking a day off (again).

Analysis

  • Bench: 220lbs
  • Squats: 249lbs
  • Deads: 299lbs
  • Overheads: 145lbs

Here are this weeks’s 1RMs:

  • Bench: 225lbs
  • Squats: 249lbs
  • Deads: 299lbs
  • Overheads: 145lbs

I am enjoying exercising less. I feel like I am gradually recovering, even though my hands still hurt like hell.

Here are my theoretical all-time max 1RM from last year:

  • Bench Press: 260 lbs (118kg)
  • Squat: 316lbs (143kg)
  • Deadlift: 366lbs (165 kg)
  • Overhead Press: 171lbs (78kg)

I have a while to go before I get back my lost gains.
