I was editing like mad this week, so I kinda sacrificed my reading/fitness this week.
Monday
- Went to Gym. Bench day, OHP day
- 70 pullups
- Read some ‘The Rage of Dragons’ by Evan Winter
- It’s good, but slightly overhyped. I’m having some trouble with some of the exposition being slightly stilted.
Wednesday
- Read some ‘The Rage of Dragons’ by Evan Winter
- Squat day at gym, OHP day
- 80 pullups
- Rode bike 2 miles
Saturday
- Bench Day again and sumo deadlift day.
- 100 pullups
- Finished ‘The Rage of Dragons’ by Evan Winter
- Watched the first (and only) season of ‘Gallipoli’. Was good, review later.
Here are my theoretical 1RMs from last week:
- Bench: 231lbs
- Squats: 249lbs
- (Sumo) Deads: 298lbs
- Overheads: 145lbs (This is never going up again, and I’m fine with that)
Here are this week’s 1rms:
- Bench: 203lbs
- Squats: 198lbs
- (Sumo) Deads: 258lbs
- Overheads: 145lbs (This is never going up again, and I’m fine with that)
Okay, I’ve reached 100 reps of half-assed pullups. Starting next week I’m going to start increasing the percentage of full-assed pullups
You may note that above I have reduced my 1rm. This is because I’m officially swapping to my new routine this week recording-wise, and my app calculates my estimated 1rm differently for this routine than my old one. That said I know I can do better, so I’m going to add some grit and try harder this coming week.
Here are my theoretical all-time max 1RM from last year:
- Bench Press: 260 lbs (118kg)
- Squat: 316lbs (143kg)
- Deadlift: 366lbs (165 kg)
- Overhead Press: 171lbs (78kg)
I have a while to go before I get back my lost gains.
